Midi Out Problems

Hey there, long time no see!

I'm having a problem with version 2.9.0.1 (and previous versions as well...) where when selecting a midi output, it takes about 5 whole seconds to give me the drop down menu of midi ports, and then when playing a midi file it pretends to play but no notes are sent through the midi port. When I stop playback and try again, it gives the following error:

"Could not open Midi Port"
"The selected resource is already allocated"

I have had this problem for a long time. Synthfont was a program I used to use all the time, but because of this bug I can't use it anymore. This issue appeared in both versions 1 and 2 after a certain version number. The program allows only one playback on the midi output ports. When playback is stopped and restarted, an error message appears. I have made two videos so that you can identify the problem:

But this issue disappears when you revert back to the old version 1.561. Edit: Also tested with 1.744 and worked without issue. The version where the issue started must be close to this version.

This error occurs both virtual midi devices and real midi devices is selected. I am using Windows 11 as an operating system, but if I remember correctly, Windows 10 also had this. Please fix this issue next versions.

Thanks for the input! It looks like the recent versions have problems releasing the MIDI output handle when playback is stopped. I'll try and figure out a reason for this.

I have found the flaw! It was only present in the 64 bit version, but anyway...
