Mapping SF2 to a MIDI

Post by genos10 »

Hi, I'm using SynthFont version 1 to assign instruments from an sf2 file to a midi so that I can import it into an NDS game. Although the arrangement sounds great in SynthFont, when I save the midi and import it into the game, the wrong instruments are incorrectly mapped even though I'm using the same sf2 as the one in the games' files. Someone trying to do the same has told me mapping instruments to the midi data with synthfont didn't work for them either, so I'm wondering if there's something I'm missing here or if I should use a different program for this task.
Thanks in advance.

Midi files do not contain any sound! Only notes and instructions to play. Sound is provided from the SoundFont (or VST instrument)
