Re: Merging soundfonts
I would point out that nowadays Sony headphones cost $300-$500. My old Sony's were $100 and their price rose to $160 with time. K, I got feedback on the limitation of Awave Studio. Soniqbear has exactly 61520 parameters. The reply I received after pointing out the inanity of the error to Markus is A...

Re: Merging soundfonts
The kick drum on GM2_map_soundfont is so much better than the competition its not funny. Stunned expression goes here. K, Omega has the Fane loudspeaker, GM2 is Eminence, and I think Synergi uses (rare) Celestion for the bass. if you look at Synthfont, btw the sound file is the bank and the MIDI pro...

Re: Merging soundfonts
Some of these soundfonts, and I include free ones, are not mergable because they have drum kits masquerading as instruments. The only one I haven't fixed this way is the Soniqbear, which isn't free. I'd like to merge a few soundfonts. Some listening makes me think GM2 was useful before its time. The...

Re: Default soundfont
I've tried the soundfonts from the X-fi drivers. I'm really looking for 8GMGS.sf2.

Re: Soundblaster Live Audigy X-fi
Are those 24 bit soundbanks? I found them. I burned the disc image with Nero and they're in one of the folders. all 4. They are 16 bit mono, which is normal.ziyamete wrote: ↑Fri May 21, 2021 9:17 pm The Creative X-Fi Vista installation CD contains 28MBGM.sf2.

Re: Default soundfont
In a related sense, there is a selection in the Options menu of Awave Studio to turn off auto property sheet.
I use the Soniqbear as my default soundfont. The Synergi soundfont is still available as well.

Re: Default soundfont
But it has plenty of instruments in it. The file 16GM.sf2 that used to come with CT cards caused misconceptions because of its small list of instruments, so it was not a good default soundfont. I think the complaining led to the demise of Utopia.

Re: Creative Vienna soundfont studio
K, I have a new Audigy Fx, but Vienna soundfont studio does not work with it, either. I suppose older soundblasters that supported soundfonts would work. The new card does work with the onboard audio to maintain the headphone connection on the front panel. The exact error message is "there is n...
