It seems there's an option in Dorico for it not to take exclusive control of the sound system, so problem solved.

I use VSTSynthFont with Dorico (just got it and am experimenting). Windows7 Pro 64-bit Used as a VST, Dorico launches the VSTSynthFont64 window when you want to edit the sound assignments etc. The problem is that when I close the VSTSynthFont64 window afterwards, I get bits of rubbish lying around o...

This seems to be about a setting in Dorico giving exclusive access to the sound system, which appears to be set by default (strangely). Fixed. However, there's a problem with the VSTSynthFont window leaving things lying around. Will post separately...
