I use VSTSynthFont with Dorico (just got it and am experimenting). Windows7 Pro 64-bit
Used as a VST, Dorico launches the VSTSynthFont64 window when you want to edit the sound assignments etc.
The problem is that when I close the VSTSynthFont64 window afterwards, I get bits of rubbish lying around on the screen and there is no way to get rid of them that I can see apart from rebooting.
At the moment I have a small rectangle with "032 - doublebass (MyOrchestra.SF2)" in it just sitting in the middle of the screen, orphaned. This appeared because I was assigning the double bass sound to the correct MIDI channel. However, the expandable menu left this item lying around on the screen.
This happens rather a lot. Why?
VSTSynthFont leaves things lying around on the screen - yuk

Well, your screenshot doesn't show what you probably wanted it to.
From experience I know that (older versions of) Windows sometime have had problems getting rid of so called hint windows. Would it be such a hint still floating around? Menus are never supposed to do it. Never seen, never heard. But hints...
