Use of other VST instruments

Post by Admin »

This has not been as straightforward a task as I first thought. But I think am getting there. Here is the next version to try (64 bit):

I've managed to get it successfully to function in Cubase, Reaper, Mixcraft, Cantabile (and SynthFont2 of course) - but there seems to be an issue in Bandlab's Cakewalk. (I've also tested the 32 bit version in Tracktion 7)

New in this version:
The editor window is no longer modal - you can leave it open and do other things.
There is a way to save the state of the plugin - save an "fxp" file using the editor. Choose a useful name. The path to this file will be saved as part of VSTSynthFont's data chunk in the host. Look here:

Wow ! Looks great ! But unfortunately it crashed in all my music software, BiaB, Reaper, Reason, Rapid Composer and including Synthfont ! Must perhaps be something wrong with my computer, or with the download? I have a slow and unstable internet connection, so it might be that.. Corrupted download or something. Happens often.. But I will post a link to this in the BiaB forum and see if the guys there make it work...

The C version won't open the same as B, it is not a recognized vst.

This is strange. Works well on my two computers. At least Mixcraft, Reaper and SynthFont2. I'll try it out on a third PC.
I'll also think about some kind of debugging version for you. If I can't come up with something then I will have to drop it. Sorry!

Just checking: I hope you are aware that this is a 64 bit version? NOT 32 bit! To be used with a 64 bit host.

Just tested Reaper (64 bit) on a third computer. Works perfectly...

Try and upload it uncompressed.

Windows 10 updates must of changed something.
I had the A version working in Reaper and Biab the other day now it crashes them.
Tried it on a Win7 laptop they all work fine.
