Hello,

VSTSynthFont is what I expect of a soundfont player though sometimes I need to switch to Sforzando, if Soundfonts do not work reliably (and I do get no message why). Here's however a different question about using it in Reaper.

whenever I open a project in Reaper, maybe since VSTSynthFont 3.200 and Reaper 5.6x I get the following error message when loading:

reaper_host64
SF2: No sm24 sub-chunk!!!

I have This message even shows when I use the included GMGSX.sf2 , but it also happens with FLuidSynth or Timbres of Heaven Soundfont. As far as I found out the error suggests there is some error in the selected sountfont.

However the soundfonts do work most of the time. But what does the message mean?

Regards, Druify

The message means that the soundfont is "flagged" as containing 24 bit audio samples, but in reality there is only 16 bit data - which is the normal situation. The soundfonts your are using must be corrupt in some strange way...

This issue has become obsolete after some updates. Thanks however.
