CORRECTION - the requirement for a full GM SoundFont has gone already (in 2013) and GMGSx is indeed used as a replacement when needed. I'll continue to look for other inconsistencies.

Yes, just checked the code. There MUST be 128 melodic presets (0-127) defined. Sorry about that. I used to let people decide if to accept a non-GM SoundFont, but it caused problems in the end I recall now. There are definitely better solutions than this one, for example, grabbing the missing presets...

Might be another issue as well. Cakewalk will not load the file either. Back to the drawing board.

Maybe you are running out of memory. This version loads the whole SoundFont into memory by default. I tested it on my PC in SynthFont2, REAPER and VStHost. All three managed to load this version of VSTSoundFont without problems and there's plenty of free memory left. However, SynthFont1 doesn't load...
