Re: Edited Instruments Splits in Viena, now all samples are broken
Kenneth, To make sure, I have just added two more samples using 0.996D and done a Purge and then a Save. I then closed Viena. This time everything behaved itself. But again, no log file appeared in the SynthFont folders found either in "My Documents" or in "Documents". John Reimer

Re: Edited Instruments Splits in Viena, now all samples are broken
Kenneth,
In adding 8 samples today to a small soundfont (one preset of two instruments) 0.996D did not scramble the samples. However, it did seem to do that when performing a Purge (but only after saving the Purge). Unfortunately it did not create a log file. I am using Windows 7.

Re: Edited Instruments Splits in Viena, now all samples are broken
Kenneth, What is frustrating is that it happens only very occasionally, with most additions causing no problem. What I do recall is that it is certainly not a case of matching up samples with the wrong splits. The actual samples are degraded, but I have not checked on how widespread the damage is.. ...

Re: Edited Instruments Splits in Viena, now all samples are broken
Kenneth,
Bad news. 0.996C has now corrupted the samples twice, on normal non-complicated addition of new samples. I haven't yet managed to get it to do this with the DBWIN32 active.
Fortunately the backup file came to my rescue.

Re: Edited Instruments Splits in Viena, now all samples are broken
Hi Kenneth, I believe that this time Viena 0.996C has reproduced the "Save after Purge" problem. Here is the debug link: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/67344903/Purge%20Test%20Viena%200.996Ctest2.txt Regarding Mike's problem with replacing a sample with one of the same name, I have ju...

Re: Edited Instruments Splits in Viena, now all samples are broken
Kenneth,
Here is the debug printout:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/673 ... 0.996C.txt
However, the fault does not seem to have occurred this time.
I intend to keep using 0.996C and shall report if the fault reappears.

Re: Edited Instruments Splits in Viena, now all samples are broken
Kenneth, I have to report that Viena 0.995 is corrupting samples, and the sound is similar to what has been happening with recent versions. It happens after purging some unused samples (actually samples that have been replaced by doing reassigns), and then saving. The corruption does not occur until...

Re: Edited Instruments Splits in Viena, now all samples are broken
Kenneth, I have been using the 0.995J and it is behaving itself nicely. However, I have noticed one odd thing when deleting splits. I very occasionally need to delete a whole range of splits. With older versions which allowed me to do this, once a split was deleted, it would highlight the “next in l...

Re: Edited Instruments Splits in Viena, now all samples are broken
Kenneth, 0.995I is not showing the strange behaviour of the blue highlight on the Instrument name immediately slipping down to “Global”. HOWEVER, if I then right-click the name with the intention of doing a rename, Rename is greyed out. So it is not possible to rename an Instrument. And I still have...
