Re: Edited Instruments Splits in Viena, now all samples are broken

I have also received a similar comment from another user Kenneth, Perhaps you are referring to the problems I have been reporting with version 0.992, wherein I had become suspicious of the soundfont I have been building. It involved a lot of reassigns, and a lot of purging of unwanted samples. A fe...

Re: Version 0.990 has been released

Kenneth, I spoke too soon. Viena 0.992 has corrupted this later soundfont file when adding new samples. As this later file and the earlier file have both probably evolved from a common earlier one, the problem may lie there. In other words, the problem is in my soundfont files, as I have previously ...

Re: Version 0.990 has been released

Kenneth, I have been using Viena 0.992 successfully with another soundfont, of current size 136 MB. I decided to check it by trying to delete a split by firstly double-clicking on the split's top cell in the Instrument display. In the Edit drop-down box, "Delete" was greyed out, as has been happenin...

Re: Version 0.990 has been released

Kenneth, I made up a small soundfont, and Viena 0.992 now offered me the Delete Split option under Edit. There was no suggestion of corruption of the sample files, but I did not expect any such corruption, given that the soundfont was very small, even with the addition of several new samples. So I d...

Re: Version 0.990 has been released

Kenneth, Thank you for trying this out. Something like this has happened before, where I am having problems with new versions of Viena and you cannot duplicate them. I can only conclude that with the constant working over (i.e. adding to the soundfonts using existing Instruments as templates for new...

Re: Version 0.990 has been released

Kenneth,

Sorry, but the sound file corruption does still seem to be happening when I import new sample files.

Re: Version 0.990 has been released

Kenneth,

I have begun to use the new Viena 0.992, and it seems to be free of the big problem of corrupting existing sound files when new ones are imported. However, it still does not allow me to delete unwanted splits. For this I have to use version 0.780, which I still have available..

The link to the Installation download file of Viena 0.990 doesn't seem to be working.

Re: Viena bugs report

Kenneth, I am having another problem with 981G (and also F) which I do not seem to have with 078. If I import new sample files having the same name as existing ones and so replacing those files, some other sample files within the soundfont get corrupted. It is certainly possible that the "new" files...

Re: Viena bugs report

Kenneth,

Sometimes I need to delete a split from an existing instrument. Version 078 allows me to do this, but the latest, Version 981G, does not.

Again, many thanks for this great program, which I use constantly.
